The "Awakening of Joy" painting celebrates the making of grand gestural marks similar to how one plays music — with full body, heart, and soul that creates an epic story of joy, experienced and exuded with the making of each mark.

Universal Interpretation: This painting invites one to contemplate the epic narrative of how joy can continuously awaken at deeper and deeper levels over time. Furthermore, this phenomenon can be experienced most acutely in nature, as its beauty awakens such expanding profound joy.

Architectural Application: This painting asks: "How can buildings create responsive narrative experiences that guide awakening of joy?" This question invites exploration into deep design narratives that go beyond function by using design to uplift and deepen quality of life.

FROM THE COLLECTION

A hieroglyph is a Greek word that means "sacred carvings". The paintings in this ECOSCRIT series build upon this meaning, as through my artistic process each painting brings forth sacred markings (carved onto paper) that recode the deep inner workings of nature's beauty. In this way, each painting translates nature's most profound and inner poetic beauty as a new hieroglyphic language that awakens and nurtures human enlightenment, by speaking directly to the soul. This new hieroglyphic soul-language that deciphers nature's deep poetic beauty is called ECOSCRIT.
